Pandemic of 2020:

Covid-19 is the disease identified as the cause of an outbreak of respiratory illness first detected in Wuhan, China. Cases in the US: 7.75M deaths: 214K. COVID-19 Is Now the Third Leading Cause of Death in the U.S.

Symptoms may appear 2–14 days after exposure to the virus. People with these symptoms may have COVID-19:

Fever or chills, Cough, Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, Fatigue, Muscle or body aches, Headache, New loss of taste or smell, Sore throat, Congestion or runny nose, Nausea or vomiting, Diarrhea

Look for emergency warning signs for COVID-19. If someone is showing any of these signs, seek emergency medical care immediately:Trouble breathing, Persistent pain or pressure in the chest, New confusion, Inability to wake or stay awake, Bluish lips or face

Why Trump should not be elected:

“Mr. Trump’s views were matters of dangerous impulse and cynical pandering rather than thoughtful politics. Yet he has attracted throngs of Americans who ascribe higher purpose to him than he has demonstrated in a freewheeling campaign marked by bursts of false and outrageous allegations, personal insults, xenophobic nationalism, unapologetic sexism and positions that shift according to his audience and his whims.” — NYtimes.

He notably tapped $258,000 in donors’ money from his charitable foundation to settle lawsuits involving his for-profit businesses, according to The Washington Post.

The importance of Climate change.

is about reducing the risk of climate change impacts to people, places and resources. We know that climate change is already occurring, and that additional warming is unavoidable. If we hope to limit the negative impacts of climate change, we must prepare by identifying vulnerabilities and by planning accordingly.

The climate is already changing, and additional changes are unavoidable. This is because greenhouse gases — carbon dioxide and methane, for example — persist for a long time in the atmosphere, which allows the gases to accumulate over time. This also means we will experience a lag between when we reduce emissions and when we actually feel the benefits of that emissions reduction. Even if we halted all climate changing emissions tomorrow, the world would continue to experience accelerating climate change for years to come.

The changing environment is expected to cause more heat stress, an increase in waterborne diseases, poor air quality, and diseases transmitted by insects and rodents. Extreme weather events can compound many of these health threats.

Big Idea: How do we stop the spread of Covid-19?

My topic will cover how American Citizens can stop the spread of Covid. This will directly be towards American Citizens. I will share the statistics of how quickly it spreads, how many have died/recovered, and then will cover the symptoms as well as prevention.

Draft: 5-sentences

Coronavirus is mostly spread through droplets that contain the virus. Droplets are expelled each time a person talks, coughs or sneezes. Symptoms may appear 2–14 days after you were exposed to COVID-19. For each individual who gets sick with COVID-19, the virus could possibly spread to two or three additional people. Preventions: staying at physical distancing, wearing a mask, keeping rooms well ventilated, avoiding crowds, cleaning your hands, and coughing into a bent elbow or tissue
